Indonesian Batik News : Pilgrims Uniforms Will Be Change To Batik

JAKARTA - The government planned to replace uniforms pilgrims into batik. In addition to typical characteristic of Indonesian clothing, batik uniform usage is also expected to grow a small business medium industries (SMEs). "We will change the (uniform pilgrims) with batik," said Minister of Religious Affairs, Suryadharma Ali, in Jakarta.

According Suryadharma, with batik clothes, the pilgrims from Indonesia can be more easily recognizable than the pilgrims from other countries. The reason, batik has been defined by UNESCO as world cultural heritage of Indonesia. "Motif batik uniforms that will be tailored to each region of origin pilgrims," said Suryadharma.

Suryadharma revealed, the use of batik uniforms are also expected to grow passion SME industry in each region. That's because the pilgrims will certainly need a batik when perform the pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

So far, uniform pilgrims from Indonesia plain and patterned light green like salted eggs. Therefore, the pilgrims from Indonesia can not be readily recognized, particularly by officials in Saudi Arabia as well as by pilgrims from other countries.
