JAKARTA - The government planned to replace uniforms pilgrims into batik. In addition to typical characteristic of Indonesian clothing, batik uniform usage is also expected to grow a small business medium industries (SMEs). "We will change the (uniform pilgrims) with batik," said Minister of Religious Affairs, Suryadharma Ali, in Jakarta.
According Suryadharma, with batik clothes, the pilgrims from Indonesia can be more easily recognizable than the pilgrims from other countries. The reason, batik has been defined by UNESCO as world cultural heritage of Indonesia. "Motif batik uniforms that will be tailored to each region of origin pilgrims," said Suryadharma.
Suryadharma revealed, the use of batik uniforms are also expected to grow passion SME industry in each region. That's because the pilgrims will certainly need a batik when perform the pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
So far, uniform pilgrims from Indonesia plain and patterned light green like salted eggs. Therefore, the pilgrims from Indonesia can not be readily recognized, particularly by officials in Saudi Arabia as well as by pilgrims from other countries.

Indonesian Batik News : Lizard Batik, Batik Against Corruption
LEMPONGSARI - Love Indonesia Love KPK (Cicak) Central Java, on Friday (20/11) launching Batik Cicak, themed''Batik Cicak, People Power Movement".
Cicak Presidium of Central Java, Eko Haryanto explained, lizard batik produced for the inauguration of ideas Indonesian batik by Unesco, as a world cultural heritage.
He pointed out, if the government institutions, corruption has become a negative culture, and must be confronted with a positive anti-corruption culture.
''We made this batik to flow lizard movement in society, and people proudly wearing batik lizard brave struggle against corruption,''firmly Eko.
Launching which was held at the Office of Central Java's KP2KKN attended a number of NGO activists and journalists. The design itself was made batik batik printing craftsmen from the Pekalongan and NGO activists Pattiro, Aminuddin.
Like batik in general, also adopted the lizard batik motifs as existing in the market. Only difference, when viewed with a magnifying glass batik motif will see the picture the lizard and crocodile.
In addition, in order to identity the struggle against corruption is more felt, in the front pocket of batik pictures plastered a large lizard that circled the words "I Cicak Fight Corruption". To be more attractive batik lizard is also given Kanabis leaf motif and decorated with lotus flowers and gradation in accordance with the basic color of batik. There are four kinds of colors are offered predominantly in blue, brown, green and purple.
Initial
According to initial production Eko lizard batik is made of 500 pieces. The plan, in addition to batik will be distributed to the entire network lizard in Jakarta, Solo, Yogyakarta, Padang and other cities.
Batik will also be distributed to the institutions concerned with the anti-corruption movement as ICW, YLBHI, and Transparency International Indonesia (TII). Batik Cicak will also be given to the Governor of Central Java, Bibit Waluyo, Police Chief Inspector Alex Bambang Riatmodjo, Kajati Central Java, Salman Maryadi and representatives of other Central Java Province Muspida. Eko expect delivery of batik can be more spur line Muspida Java in action to eradicate corruption.
Eko added, in the near batik lizard will be mass produced. This along with the high interest from a number of elements of the community who want to have the lizard batik. Eko mass production rate will raise the economy batik craftsmen.
Although smelly business, but Eko confirm if this step is purely a social project. The profits from the sale of batik will be used to fund anti-corruption movement.
